Abstract: In order to improve the dye up-taking process control and provide a theoretical guidance for dyeing process optimization of the green vegetable dye sodium copper chlorophyll (SCC) on silk fabrics, the adsorption kinetics of SCC on silk fabrics and the dyeing mechanism were investigated. Pseudo first-order and pseudo second-order kinetic models were used to fit the experimental data and the adsorption kinetic parameters of SCC on silk fabrics were studied. The results indicated that the adsorption kinetics of SCC on silk fabrics agreed very well with the pseudo second-order kinetic model. In addition, with the increase of the dyeing temperature from 70 ℃ to 90 ℃, the amounts of the dye adsorbed on silk fabrics at adsorption equilibrium was decreased, the dyeing rate constant and the diffusion coefficient were increased and the half dyeing time was decreased.
