Abstract: A new iridoid named (1R,6S,8R,9R)-1-ethoxy-8-methyl-1,5,6,7,8,9-hexahydrocyclopenta[c]pyran-4 -carbaldehyde (1) was isolated from the Tibetan folk medicine Incarvillea younghusbandii Sprague. Structures of these new compounds were elucidated by spectral methods, e.g. 1D and 2D NMR and HRMS.
