Abstract: Ten compounds were obtained from chloroform and EtoAc fractions of 95% ethanol extract of Bauhinia brachycarpa by repeated column chromatography over silica gel and sephadex LH-20. By physical-chemical and spectral analysis, these compounds were identified as lupeol(1), β-sitosterol(2), 5,6,7,5’-tetramethoxy-3’,4’-methy lene-dioxyflavone(3), 5,6,7,3’,4’,5’-hexanmethoxyflavone(4), 5,7,3’,4’,5’-pentamethoxyflavone(5), 5,6,7- trimethoxy-3’,4’-methylene-dioxyflavone(6), daucosterol(7), gallic acid(8), methyl gallate(9), and epicatechin 3-O-gallate(10). All compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.

Key words: Bauhinia brachycarpa, triperpenoids, flavones, gallic acid
