Abstract: Eleven compounds were isolated from leaves of Actephila merrilliana. On the basis of physicochemical properties and spectroscopic analysis, their structures were identified as 5,5'-dimethoxy-alloagerasasin(1), p-hydroxy-benzaldehyde (2), syringic acid (3), stearic acid (4), trans-cinnamic acid (5), p-methoxy-benzoic acid (6) , resorcinol (7), o-phthalic acid (8), o-hydroxy-benzoic acid (9), p-hydroxy-benzoic acid (10), glutaric acid (11). All compounds are reported for the first time from the Actephila genus.

Key words: Actephila merrilliana, Euphorbiaceae, chemical constituents
