Abstract:

This study aimed to investigate chemical constituent variations before and after the combination of Cinnamomi Ramulus (CR) and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle (GM).Using UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS,extracted ion chromatograms and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) fragmentation patterns were acquired for individual decoctions of CR,GM,and their combined decoction.A customized chemical constituent database was established based on retention time, accurate molecular mass, and multistage fragmentation data to identify chemical constituents in both individual and combined decoctions. In the individual decoction of CR,20 chemical compounds were identified, whereas 24 were identified in GM.A total of 36 constituents were identified in the combined decoction, including 13 unique compounds such as aldehydes, phenylpropanoids, and phthalates. This study provides a preliminary investigation into the chemical transformation mechanisms of CR and GM before and after combined decoction using UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS,offering a foundation for further studies on their pharmacological interactions and mechanisms.
