Flavones and Megastigmanes from Lysimachia clethroides

Abstract: The chemical constituents from the ethanol extract of Lysimachia clethroides were isolated by a combination of various chromatographic techniques including column chromatography over silica gel,Sephadex LH-20 and reversed-phase HPLC.Twelve compounds were obtained and elucidated as kaempferol (1),quercetin (2),cinchonain Ib (3),apigenin-6-C-β-D-xylopyranosyl-8-C-α-L-arabinopyranoside (4),apigenin-6,8-di-C-α-L-arabinopyranoside (5),apigenin-6-C-α-L-arabinopyranosyl-8-C-β-D-xylopyranoside (6),apigenin-6,8-di-C-β-D-xylopyranoside (7),apigenin-6-C-β-L-arabinopyranosyl-8-C-β-D-glucopyranoside (8),apigenin-6-C-α-L-arabinopyranosyl-8-C-β-D-glucopyranoside (9),apigenin-6-C-β-D-glucopyranosyl-8-C-α-L-arabinopyranoside (10),blumenol A (11),(3S,5R,6R,7E,9S)megastigman-7-ene-3,5,6,9-tetrol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (12).In the preliminary assays,none of compounds 1~12 exhibited obvious cytotoxic activity (IC50 > 10 μM).
