Abstract: Sanghuangporus spp.are a group of medicinal fungi parasitic on broad-leaved trees and possess significant anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory properties.Pyranones are unique active compounds found in Sanghuangporus spp..This article introduces the structures of 38 pyranones identified in Sanghuangporus spp.,and provides a detailed review of the anti-tumor research involved in hispolon,hispidin,3,4-dihydroxybenzalactone,and inoscavin A.Previous reports have shown that pyranones mainly exert their effects by regulating cell cycle, apoptosis, autophagy, migration, invasion, and coordinating multiple pathways. This review aims to elucidate the therapeutic potential of pyranones as candidate anti-cancer drugs, providing insights for further research on pyranones as anti-tumor drug candidates and accelerating the industrialization of Sanghuangporus spp..
