Study on Antioxidant Activities of Different Polarity Fractions of Ethanol Extract of Gentiana urnula H.Smith

Abstract

Abstract: With VC and BHT as positive control,the antioxidant activities of different polarity fractions of ethanol extract of Gentiana urnula H.Smith were investigated.The results showed that all fractions had moderate antioxidant activity through DPPH·,O₂^-·，·OH and reducing power assays.The chloroform extract and ethyl acetate extract had the strongest effects,with better DPPH· scavenging effect and total reducing power than BHT.This study provided a scientific basis for the further research of active constituents of G.urnula and its application as natural antioxidant.
