Abstract: In this study, the estrogenic effects of echinacoside and actsoside of Herba Cistanche was investigated.A luciferase reporter plasmid law was used to detect the estrogenic effects of echinacoside and actsoside. The estrogen receptor competition binding experiments were used to detect their competitive effect with estrogen. The results showed that echinacoside and actsoside can increase the activity of ERE.When echinacoside or actsoside added in estrogenacts,EREdriven reporter gene activity can be stimulated as an estrogen agonist.Hence,it was concluded that echinacoside and actsoside had a phytoestrogens activity through stimulating ERE-increase reporter gene activity.Echinacoside and actsoside were potential SERMs.
