Research Progress on the Bio-active Components of Nicotiana tabacum L.

Abstract

Abstract: Tobacco is not only one of especially economical crops,but also one of traditional Chinese medicines with long history.There are numerous chemical components in tobacco,and many of them are valuable substances with biological activity.In this article,the major active components of alkaloids,terpenoids, flavonoid,phenols,essential oil and active polysaccharides were introduced.In addition,their functions and applications were reviewed and discussed.
