Extraction and Analysis of Volatile and Semi-volatile Compounds from Alfalfa

Abstract: At this work,orthogonal experimental design was used to optimize the method of alfalfa extracting,and GC-MS was used to analyze the volatile and semi-volatile compounds of alfalfa extract.The research results showed that the optimal extract conditions were obtained as follows:using 75% ethanol as extractor with the ratio of material to liquid at 1:6 and repeat extracting three times for two hours each time,under which the extraction rate was 100.5%.The main content of volatile and semi-volatile compounds in alfalfa extract were analyzed by GC-MS as follows:Furfural,Linalool,Dihydroactinidiolide,Palmitic acid,Oleic acid.Alfalfa extract is a kind of Natural raw fragrance materials with special herbal tea odour.
