Abstract: This study was aimed to explore active ingredient of barley malt for inhibiting prolactin secretion. The barley malt was extracted by 75% ethanol and then extracted by petroleum ether, ethyl acetate and n-butyl alcohol in turn.Estradiol benzoate and progesterone were used to establish the mice model of mammary hyperplasia in order to detect the activity of different components of barley malt. And the results showed that the ethyl acetate extract of barley malt had significant effect on inhibiting the secretion of PRL.Then the extract was isolated by MCI column,ODS column and ODS-A column respectively. Finally four monomeric compounds were identifiedby NMR:3-methyl-1-gaidic acid ethyl ester glyceride,3-methyl-1-octadecenicacid ethyl ester glyceride,3-daturicacid-cyclohexyl-1,4-dienylester,1,4-cyclohexadiene-3-pentadecoic acid ester.
