Abstract:

In order to investigate the protective effect and potential mechanisms of pine pollen on the ovaries of rats with premature ovarian failure, cyclophosphamide (CTX) was used to induce premature ovarian failure in rats, and the effects of pine pollen on ovarian histopathology, serum hormone levels, ovarian anti-oxidant capacity,anti-inflammatory capacity, and anti-apoptosis of granulosa cells at different doses (1.5,0.5 and 0.1 g/kg body weight) for 28 days were determined. The results show that pine pollen can increase the ovarian index and reduce the number of atretic follicles induced by CTX.High-dose pine pollen can adjust the serum hormone level to be consistent with that of blank control group.Middle-dose group show similar anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects as high-dose group, bringing the values back to normal levels.Pine pollen can effectively reduce the level of granular cell apoptosis, increase the expression of Bcl-2 in the ovary, and reduce the expression of Bax,Caspase-3,and Cleaved Caspase-3.This study provides a theoretical and experimental basis for the development of functional foods based on pine pollen for ovary protection.
