Abstract: A HPLC method for determination of cinnamic acid in cortex lycii was developed.Separations were performed on an ultimate C18 column.Mobile phase consisted of water-acetonitrile(containing 0.2% phosphoric acid)and the flow rate was 0.5 mL/min.The detection wavelength was 278 nm and the column temperature was room temperature.Calibration curve for cinnamic acid was linear in the range of 0.1-200 μg/mL,limits of detection was 0.029 μg/mL and limits of quantification was 0.097 μg/mL.The average recoveries were >92%.The proposed method was simple, fast and sensitive, and could be used for accurate determination of cinnamic acid in cortex lycii.
