Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the regulating effects of superfine powder of Cichorium intybus L.root on intestinal microflora in immunosuppressive mice and to provide theoretical basis for further development and utilization of C.intybus. The mice model of intestinal dysbiosis was established by treating with cyclophosphamide.Mice were randomly divided into four groups:control group, cyclophosphamide (CY) model group, high concentration C.intybus root superfine powder group, low concentration C.intybus root superfine powder group. The number of Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Escherichia coli and Enterococcus in mice cecum contents was determined by colony counting and intestinal sIgA content was determined by ELISA assay.Compared with CY model group, the numbers of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium were significantly increased, the numbers of Escherichia coli and Enterococcus were significantly decreased and the content of intestinal mucosal sIgA was significantly increased in high concentration C.intybus root superfine powder group. These results indicated that C.intybus root superfine powder can regulate the disturbance of intestinal microflora in immunosuppressive mice induced by CY.
