Abstract: To explore the effect of water extracts of Edgeworthia gardneri (Wall.) Meissn on fasting blood glucose (FBG) and blood lipids of the C57BL/6J mice with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.The C57BL/6J mice models of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus were established through high-fat diet and STZ injection.After 4 weeks of treatment, compared with model group (DM), and the low,middle,high dosage groups of the water extracts of E. chrysantha all showed a lower level of FBG,HbA1c,FFA and LDL-C, whereas showed a higher level of FINS and HDL-C. Moreover,the water extracts of E. gardneri middle and high dosage groups showed better effect on repairing islet. In conclusion, the water extracts of E. gardneri can reduce FBG in type 2 diabetes mellitus mice,which was possibly through repairing islet and regulating lipid metabolism.
