Abstract: In this study, the pyrogallol auto-oxidation method was used to investigate the characteristics of superoxide dismutase (SOD) of Arthrospira platensis from the Erdos Plateau. The maximum absorption wavelength for SOD was 320 nm in the ultraviolet range. The optimal pH in a Tris-HCl buffer and the optimal temperature for SOD were 8.2 and 25 °C,respectively. The SOD activity was higher in a pH range of 6-10.Superoxide dismutase activity decreased at temperatures higher than 40 °C for more than 20 minutes and higher than 35 °C for more than 60 minutes.Similarly,SOD activity decreased at room temperature in light after a period of more than 2 days, almost not at all after seven days at room temperature in light, and exhibited absolutely no change at room temperature without light after nine days.
