Abstract:

Five compounds, including a new one (1),were isolated from the broth of Pseudeurotium ovale,an endophytic fungus of Ligusticum chuanxiong by some column chromatographic such as macroporous resin column chromatography, gel column chromatography and HPLC.Their structures were elucidated as 4-methoxy-3-methyl-6-(1E,3E)-1,3-pentadien-1-yl-2H-pyran-2-one (1),(2E,4E)-1-(2,6-dihydroxy-3,5-dimethylphenyl)-2,4- hexadien-1-one(2),2-deoxy-sohirnone C (3),trichodimerol (4),3,7-dihydroxy-1,9-dimethyl-dibenzofuran (5) by the interpretation of their spectroscopical evidences from 1D and 2D NMR as well as HR-ESI-MS.Compound 1 exhibited anti-inflammatory properties in vitro by attenuating the production of inflammatory mediators, such as nitric oxide (NO) as well as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6).

Key words: Pseudeurotium ovale, metabolite, anti-inflammatory activity
