Abstract:

The secondary metabolites of a soil-derived Streptomyces sp. CPCC 203679 were investigated. The fermentation extract of strain CPCC 203679 were isolated by silica gel column,Sephadex LH-20 gel column, and high performance liquid chromatography, which led to the isolation of nine compounds, including a new fatty acid,(3S)-3-hydroxy-8-methyl-5-oxononanoic acid (1) and eight known compounds,N-[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethyl]acetamide (2),3,3-bis(3′-indolyl)propane-1,2-diol (3),cyclo-(L-Leu-L-Pro) (4),cyclo-(L-Phe-L-Try) (5),cyclo-(L-Try-L-Pro) (6),cyclo-(L-Phe-L-Pro) (7),cyclo-(L-Ile-L-Pro) (8),2,3-dihydroxypropyl(9E,11E)-13-oxooctadeca-9,11-dienoate (9).Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and comparison with reported literatures. Compound 3 was obtained from the soil-derived Streptomyces for the first time. The isolated compounds 1-8 were evaluated for their antibacterial and cytotoxic activities. The biological activity results showed that all compounds had no antibacterial and cytotoxic activities.
