Abstract: In order to recognize α-glucosidase inhibitory ability of triterpenes from the fruits of T.Chebula Retz, the trierpentes were isolated and purified by TLC-guide method and the bioactivity in vitro was investigated by means of the inhibitory activity against to α-Glucosidase combined with HPLC.Three compounds were obtained from the acetic ether extract and identified as arjunic acid, arjunolic acid, arjungenin, among them, arjunic acid (IC50= 2.97 μmol/mL) and arjunolic acid (IC50= 0.82 μmol/mL) had theability against to α-glucosidase.

Key words: Terminalia chebula Retz., α-Glucosidase;HPLC;arjunic acid;arjunolic acid
