Abstract: Seventeen compounds were isolated from Periplaneta americana.Their structures were identified as cyclo(L-Tyr-L-Tyr) (1),cyclo(L-Tyr-L-Pro) (2),cyclo(L-Val-L-Tyr) (3),cyclo(Gly-L-Phe) (4),cyclo(Gly-L-Trp) (5),cyclo(L-Trp-L-Ser) (6),cyclo(L-Trp-L-Asn) (7),ginsenine (8),6-hydroxycoumarin (9),6-hydroxy-3,4-dihydrochromen-2-one (10),1-(3-ethylphenyl)-1,2-ethanediol (11),1-(4-ethylphenyl)-1,2-ethanediol (12),(E)-4-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)but-3-en-2-one (13),2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-2-oxoethyl acetate (14),protocatechuic acid (15),methylparaben (16),and syringic acid (17),respectively,by spectroscopic methods.Compounds 1-14 were isolated from the title insect species for the first time.In addition,biological evaluation towards wound-healing activities was conducted.Compound 13 showed a strong activity of inhibiting NO production.
