Abstract: Chaetomium globosum, belonging to Chaetomiaceous fungi of Chaetomiales of Ascomycetes, has been isolated form air, soil and plant residues. In recent four decades, the secondary metabolites including alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, lipids and so on from C.globosum were found to be diverse, biologically active and structurally novel. Most of them displayed fascinating bioactivities such as antitumor, antibacterial and antiviral activities. This paper reviewed the diversity and bioactivites of the secondary metabolites from C.globosum since 2015,which are very valuable for further research and may be used as potential lead compounds for drug development.

Key words: Chaetomium globosum, secondary metabolite, bioactivity
