Review on Natural Products Against Hyperuricemia

Abstract: Persistent hyperuricemia was the most common cause of gout,currently.There are two common strategies against hyperuricemia:regulating the excessive production or promoting urinary excretion of uric acid.Currently,clinical hypouricemic medicines,such as allopurinol,had notably side effects and those applications are obviously restricted.It had been a research focus to search for hypouricemic medicines with high efficiency and low toxicity from natural products,and the most intensive studies were about flavonoids compounds.Here we reviewed current situation of the clinical hypouricemic medicines,and experimental research progress of anti-hyperuricemic natural products,providing reference for the study on new drugs and development of health-care food against hyperuricemia.
