Abstract: To enrich the chemical diversity of marine fungi and explore their active metabolites, the secondary metabolites of marine-derived fungus Arthrinium sp.UJNMF0008 were investigated and their biological activities were evaluated.Five compounds were yielded from the fermentation extract of marine-sediment derived fungus Arthrinium sp.UJNMF0008 based on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20,ODS and HPLC methods, including arthone F (1),arthone G (2),sydoxanthone C (3),(3R,4R)-cis-4-hydroxymellein (4) and 2-(2′S-hydroxypropyl)-5-methyl-7-hydroxychromone (5).The structures of them were elucidated by the analysis of NMR data,MS and comparison with literatures.Compounds 1 and 2 were new compounds, while compound 3 was obtained from genus Arthrinium for the first time. However,no compounds indicated obvious bioactivity in our antimicrobial, antiradical and lipopolysaccharide-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in mouse macrophage RAW 264.7 cells.
