Abstract: A new 5-alkenylresorcinol Adipostatin E (1) with five known congeners,Adipostatin A (2),Adipostatin B (3),Adipostatin C (4),Adipostatin D (5),and 5-Heptadecyl-1,3-benzenediol (6) were isolated and purified from the culture broth of Streptomyces sp.KIB-H1424,which was isolated from soil sample collected in Yuanjiang county in Yuxi of Yunnan Province,China. The structures of the six isolates were characterized through extensive analysis and compared of NMR and mass spectrometry data with known compounds. The antibacterial and antifungal experiments demonstrated that none of the isolates possesses significant antimicrobial activity against the tested pathogenic bacterium and fungus.
